LEH, JANUARY 26: The 68th Republic Day was celebrated at Historic Polo Ground Leh today. CEC LAHDC, Leh, Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo unfurled the tricolor and took salute at march past presented by parade contingents of police, paramilitary forces and school children.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Dawa paid rich tributes to the soldiers and police personal who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
While highlighting the developmental initiatives undertaken in Leh, CEC expressed gratitude to Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti for granting allocation of Rs 50 crore for Leh district and sanctioning of Nubra Development Authority.
Tableaux by Information Department & Cultural Academy Leh, Health, Rural Development Departments and Municipal Committee Leh showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Ladakh and government schemes like MGNREGA and Swacch Bharat Abhiyan was the major highlight of today's Republic day celebration in Leh.
