J&K: Sub Registrar Appreciated By HC For Objecting Incorrect Valuation In A Document



Jammu, March 21:IG Registration, Arshad Ayub has streamlined the registration system in Jammu and Kashmir.

Insiders told Cross Town News that IGR can be seen  personally guiding some Sub Registrars over important issues.

Also, Sub Registrar South was appreciated for objecting incorrect valuation in a document while registration.

In the instant case of Gulam Mohd. Ganai and another v. UT of J&K Hon’ble HC directed Sub registrar south, Jammu to admit the instrument of registration. While appreciating the bonafide view point observed by Sub Registrar, Rachna Sharma regarding correct valuation of the document for the purpose of payment of Stamp Duty, Hon’ble court advised Sub Registrar South to proceed for the course of action as contemplated under the stamps Act, 1977 for collection of deficit fee about Rs. 5 lacs ,after registering the document.
