Man Arrested For Making Extortion Call To IAS Officer

New Delhi, March 10: Following a complaint of a Haryana cadre-IAS officer, facing investigation by the State’s Anti-Corruption Bureau, had lodged a police complaint in Gurgaon alleging she had received extortion calls from a person, Gurgaon police have arrested the accused in the case.

Police saidthat  the accused, Rishi Sharma, a resident of Udaipur in Rajasthan, who does insurance of vehicles, was given a notice to join the probe.

During questioning, he confessed he had read online about the ACB probing the involvement of IAS officer Anita Yadav and another official in a case and decided to extort money from her.

He got Yadav’s contact online and he made a WhatsApp call to her and offered to get her a clean chit from the probe by ACB in exchange for money.
