Jammu, Dec 20: Raids were conducted at the premises of Farco Jewellers by the team of officers led by Pankaj Atri, Joint Director in presence of other officersr of Bureau of Indian Standards, Jammu & Kashmir Branch office.
During the search and seizure operation, jewellery without Hallmark and with fake HUID was seized.
The BIS officers said that the action is being initiated by BIS J&K office against the offenders under BIS Act, 2016, which is punishable with imprisonment up to 1 year or a fine not less than Rs. 1 lakh & such operations will be carried out frequently due to rampant misuse of BIS Hallmark
