Handwara, Nov 26: Former J&K CM and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah says that, "The people of Jammu and Kashmir were told that all their problems were due to Article 370.
he added that it was further said that there is corruption and unemployment here due to Article 370 and if it is removed, everything will be fine.
He asked Govt that it has been four years since Article 370 was removed, which problem has been solved?
Addressing reporters at a party convention in Handwara, Omar Abdullah remarked that if the BJP government has indeed made progress in the Union Territory, they should confidently announce elections in J&K, providing an opportunity for the party to showcase its developmental achievements.
However, he suggested that the reluctance to hold elections suggests a lack of confidence or apprehension on their part.
He added that challenges faced by the people seem to dissipate into thin air, as no one seems to care. There is a glaring absence of the mother of democracy here in J&K. Don't the people of J&K deserve the right to choose their elected representatives?
Omar added that democracy is being undermined in Jammu and Kashmir.
