DC Rajouri reviews quality, impact of ICDS services on health of young beneficiaries

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 07: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today presided over a crucial meeting to assess the quality of health and other services being provided by Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) to beneficiaries aged 0 to 6 years and the impact on their health and wellbeing.

Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal meticulously assessed a range of critical parameters through the Poshan Tracker app.

These parameters encompass Aadhaar verification of ICDS beneficiaries, measurement efficiency, home visits, distribution of take-home ration, provision of hot cooked meals, online activation of Anganwadi centers, execution of community-based events and the organization of Village Health and Nutrition Days.

Earlier, the PO ICDS underscored the significant scope of the operation, highlighting that there are seven projects and 1672 Anganwadi centers functioning in the region.

An exceptional achievement highlighted during the meeting was the substantial progress in Aadhaar verification, with an impressive 99.27 percent of 41,306 beneficiaries already verified.

Vikas Kundal emphasized the vital task of measuring ICDS beneficiaries across various health parameters to address malnutrition issues. He stressed the importance of achieving a 100 percent measurement of ICDS beneficiaries, leaving no child behind in our pursuit of their well-being.

The Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal also evaluated the activities carried out by the RBSK team in Anganwadi centers, ensuring a comprehensive approach to child health and well-being, ultimately aiming to improve overall child health outcomes in the district.

This comprehensive review highlights the commitment of the Rajouri administration to ensure the holistic development of children in the region. In conclusion, this meeting signifies a significant milestone in the mission to secure the health and nutrition of children of Rajouri district, reaffirming the dedication of the administration to the ambitious goal of measuring 100 percent of ICDS beneficiaries.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; Project Officer of ICDS, Shoket Mehmood Malik; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rajinder Sharma; Child Development Project Officers and Block Medical Officers.
