DODA, OCTOBER 07: The district administration under the command and control of UT administration is committed to create a viable environment for the growth and development of entrepreneurship in the district to address the challenging issue of unemployment.

Berozgar se Swarozgar (Self Employment) approach is being vigorously followed to make the youth self-reliant through multiple self-employment schemes offering technical knowhow and financial support for both services and production arena.

In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan convened a meeting of the stakeholder departments and reviewed their performance in the execution of schemes providing handholdings for start ups in all potential sectors.

The DC expressed strong concern over the delay in disbursement at the bank level, hindering the overall achievements in creating employment opportunities for the youth within the district.

The DC set a target of one month to clear the pending cases for disbursement in different bank branches across the district, and directed the concerned officers to certify about the 100% disbursement of all the sponsored and sanctioned cases under different self-employment schemes.

He asked them to submit reasons within three days for not disbursing the sanctioned cases and demanding guarantors from the sponsored beneficiaries.

It was informed that out of 2176 cases sponsored under PMEGP, MUDRA, Mumkin, Tejaswani etc this fiscal 1631 have been sanctioned and 941 cases disbursed till date, generating employment for about 2492 youth.

Deputy Director Employment and LDM were asked to coordinate and make sure that all the desiring applicants get their chosen financial assistance at the earliest.

Later a loan disbursement mela was organised by District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Doda.

In the mela ADDC Pran Singh handed over sanction letters to 16 unemployed youth, who had applied under various self-employment schemes and whose cases were found genuine, sanctioned, and approved for disbursement as envisaged in the respective schemes.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Doda Pran Singh, CPO Doda Suresh Kumar, GM DIC Doda Idrees Lone, Zonal Head JK Bank, CAHO, CAO, CHO, DSHO, Dy Director Sericulture, AD Floriculture, AD Fisheries, District Manager NRLM, District Manager KVIB, and other concerned officers and officials.
