Jammu, Jan 16: The J&K assembly today witnessed unparliamentary scenes when National Conference demanded clarification from the Government over the issue of compensation to the victims of 2016 valley unrest.
Devender Singh Rana stood up in the house, supported by other members of his party, demanding clarification from the Government over their decision to pay Rs 5 lakh to the families of each person killed in last year's unrest in the valley. Rana said the BJP leaders had been issuing statements in public that those responsible for protests and for stoking trouble during the unrest should not be compensated in anyway.
The scene continued in the house as Rana sought a statement on the issue from R&B, Minister Abdul Rehman Veeri.
