JK Budget 2017: 7th pay commission from 1st April 2018,Regularization of Casual labourers ,No token tax for Transporters for 6 months


JAMMU, Jan 11: Fiance Minister Haseeb Drabu on Wednesday while presentin g his third budget said that  the 7th Pay Commission recommendations would be implemented from April 1, 2018

 As per details available with Cross Town News , Drabu said the administrative departments would be given 50 percent funds by February 10 so that they could start works from April 1, contrary to the past when around 80 percent of the funds were released in the last quarter.

Finance Minister Haseeb Ahmad Drabu Wednesday said Adhaar cards would be made mandatory for applying for government jobs as this will help  government understand the total number of unemployed youth  as the employment exchanges would be able to keep track of the unemployed youth.

Drabu said 27 employment schemes were functional in Jammu Kashmir including  12 Government of India (GoI) sponsored employment  Cross Town News schemes, 9 State government employment schemes and 6 employment schemes run by pvt players.

Drabu said government would start regularization of casual labourers from next year and soon start regularization of all those contractual employees who had given land to the government for different purposes.

Drabu said Government would waive off token taxes on transporters for six months starting from July.

Drabu said the government agreed to the demands of Kashmiri journalists to handover the building used by the Information department to the journalists for setting up of Press Club .

 Drabu  the government would set up a Shams Tabri School of Arts in Jammu in honour of former CM late Mufti Sayeed.

Finance Minister  said the proposed GST was not applicable to Jammu Kashmir.

Drabu said in honour of  former  chief minister of Jammu Kashmir, late Mufti  Sayeed, the government would start a football league in his name in which all leagues of the state would participate and s ources told Cross Town News that the working of the league is going to be  Jammu and Kashmir Football Association.
