LONDON, Sep 05: Liz Truss wins Conservative Party leadership election and will be the next UK prime minister.
Liz Truss has been declared the winner of the Conservative Party leadership election with 81,326 votes, defeating Rishi Sunak, who received 60,399 votes.
Truss will formally take on the role of prime minister on Tuesday after asking Her Majesty the Queen for permission to form a government.
