Srinagar , Jan 06: Expressing his serious concern over the long and unscheduled power curtailment in the entire Valley, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir today blamed the PDP BJP Coalition for failing to ensure adequate supply of Electricity to consumers in this harsh winter.
Lashing out at State Govt for its callous attitude about the difficulties of people, Mir said that 95 decreases in supply of power has made the lives of people difficult and Govt is not coming out of the power corridors to address the concerns of the people.
He said winter is not new in the valley, why the State Govt is not purchasing the power from northern grid, while as every year, the State used to purchase electricity from northern grid to address power crisis, but why this time Govt is not serious about the power crisis, Mir questioned.
He said only 5 to 10 % powers is being provided in both metered and non-metered areas, besides the heavy snow fall has added more problems to the people in entire valley. Govt seems to be more careless about the resolution of other problems such as snow clearance in both plain and hilly areas and variability of other essential being required for living, particularly in hilly areas.
He said people in the entire valley are being punished by PDP BJP Coalition for no fault theirs. Kashmir Valley has never seen such a difficult situation before, as the previous Govt besides making strenuous efforts to provide succor to the people in every respect, also ensured the adequate supply of Electricity, particularly during the winter period, but this time, the rules seems to have changed with the formation of PDP BJP Coalition in the State, he added
G.A. Mir asked the Govt to ensure adequate supply of electricity in the valley and ensure that every house hold in both plain and hilly areas do not suffer on account of electricity and other essentials.
