KATHUA, DECEMBER 29 -A meeting of District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) for the Quarter ending September 2016 of Kathua district was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner,  Ramesh Kumar.

Lead District Manager informed the meeting that deposits of the district was Rs. 397.697 lakh and advances were Rs. 164.098 lac, as on 30.09.2016. The C.D. Ratio of the district was 41.26%.

Under ACP-2015-16, the achievement of banks was 34.80% against the annual target of Rs. 107.755 lakh and the achievement was Rs. 374.93 lakh.

Lead District Manager informed the house that the credit flow to women beneficiaries is 5.17% of the total advances against a national target of 5%.

The DDC stressed for reconciliation of figures of banks and department regarding achievement under various heads. He said PMJDY camps should be held along with the FLC camps in order to ensure 100% coverage under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana scheme. The Chairman also instructed the banks to ensure 100% survey of unbanked villages and urban wards so that accounts under PMJDY are opened in respect of all eligible persons. He emphasized that awareness Camps regarding banking facilities for Education loans should be conducted regularly.

DDC held a detailed review of all the Govt. sponsored schemes with special focus on KCC’s.  He also advised the sponsoring agencies to conduct awareness camps in rural areas in coordination with banks in this year, so that more and more people are educated, motivated and facilitated. He called for improving CD ratio besides stressed for financial inclusion. Service /operational areas of bank shall be defined so that priority sector shall not suffer, DDC added.

To improve credit facilitation wherein income certificates are required, DDC stressed upon the revenue officers to facilitate the applicants seeking income certificate.

DDC Kathua also stressed for taking steps to create awareness regarding cashless transactions which is safe and transparent. He called for maximum ADHAAR seeding of bank accounts of their respective branches. He also directed LDM Kathua to submit the proposal of opening new bank branches in newly created Administrative Units especially Dhar Mahanpur and Dinga Amb.
