Apsara Road Market To Be Developed As Heritage Bazaar: Kavinder Gupta

 

JAMMU, DECEMBER 27: A delegation of Apsara Road Traders Association today called on the Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta and put forth various demands pertaining to the development of Apsara road.

Kavinder Gupta informed the delegation that Rs 24 lakh have been approved for this project out of which Rs 10 lakh has been provided by him out of his CDF. He said that in Phase-I, divider on the main road has already been installed by R&B Department to ease the traffic in this busy market.

The Speaker further informed that in Phase-II, beautification works will be undertaken by way of installing streetlights and developing required infrastructure. To give a heritage look to the market, a gate at the entrance will also be constructed for which process has been started by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).

He said the Government has fulfilled the long pending demand of the market association for giving heritage look to the market.

The delegation also submitted a charter of demands to the Speaker including parking issue, upgradation of transformer, water supply to toilet complex and others.

Responding to the issues, the Speaker said the upgraded transformer would be installed soon and issue of multi parking complex at Gole Market will be taken up with the concerned department.

The members of the delegation included President, Apsara Road Traders Association Amit Jandyal, Chairman Ashu Gupta, General Secretary Anil Kohli, Ashwani Khullar, Amit Dogra and Suneesh Gupta.
