JAMMU, DECEMBER 11:  Lauding the role played by the security forces, the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh said they have been playing immense role in safeguarding the country against the designs of anti-national elements, besides warding off the threat of external aggression.

The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking at 113th function of Shaheed Parivar Fund organized by the Hind Samachar and Punjab Kesari Group at Jallandhar today.

Himachal Pradesh, Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Veer Badr Singh, Vice Chairman, Kissan Vikas Board Mr Daljit Singh Chib, MP Mr. Sita Ram Yechury, Members of Parliament, Chief Editor Hind Samachar Group Mr Vijay Chopra, Senior Journalists, academicians and intellectuals were present on the occasion.

Dr Singh said the security forces have been offering sacrifices and it is due to their tireless efforts that the threat of violence has been brought down in different parts of the country especially in Jammu & Kashmir.  “We all should be indebted to these brave-hearts who without caring for their lives have been instrumental in guarding the country from internal threats and external aggression”, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that terrorism, in any form, can’t be tolerated and befitting reply will be given to those fanning terror and separatism.  He said the country is competent enough to give a befitting reply to those harboring ill will towards the territorial integrity of the nation.

While complementing the organizers for  organizing these types of events, the Deputy chief Minister said that it is the need of the hour to  honor  the sacrifices of the martyrs  and also create  awareness about the contribution being  rendered by them especially  among the youth and  posterity as well.

Dr Singh also paid glowing tributes to Lala Jagat Naryan Ji and said that his immense contribution in the field of journalism would be remembered for ages to come.

On the occasion two relief trucks for Jammu and Kashmir were flagged off by the dignitaries.
