Jammu, Feb 21; In the series of events and activities organised by Government College for Women, Parade, to cultivate the cocurricular skills of the students, PG Department of English, GCW Parade organised a poster making competition on the International Mother Language Day.
The event was organised in the supervision of worthy principal Dr S. P. Saraswat and guidance of the faculty members of the PG Department of
English. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Prof. Surbhi Malhotra.
Prof. Neena Kumari, Associate Professor and Head Department of Political Science, GCW Parade, and Anita Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics GCW Parade, were the guests of honour, and Jury members for the event.
The idea of celebrating this day in the college was the brain child of Head, Department of English, Dr Ritu Magotra who always emphasises on the need to be rooted in the culture and cherish the cultural diversity existing in our nation.
The jury members declared the result and congratulated the winners and the participants for their brilliant performances. Prakriti Thakur (sem 1) bagged the first position while second and third positions were secured by Riva Sagotra (Sem 3) and Tanisha Manhas (Sem 1) respectively.
The program was graced by the faculty members of the PG Department of English and attended by all the students of Sem 1 and Sem 3 of the
department.
The event concluded with formal vote of thanks by Dr Manmmet Kour.
