JAMMU, NOVEMBER 26 – Member of Parliament, Shamsher Singh Manhas today distributed free gas connections among BPL families at a function organized by Hindustan Petroleum Bari Brahmana at Village Laswara Bishnah.
About 150 free gas connections were distributed on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, the MP said that central as well as state government is committed to provide every basic amenity to the rural population. He further said that providing free gas connections in the name of the female head of a household under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a step to empower women besides protecting their health. He further said that scheme envisages to provide 5 crore free LPG connections to poor families across the country in 5 years.
