Women equal contributors in society of J&K: Chairperson SWC


 

DODA, NOVEMBER 24 - Calling every woman as ambassador of women commission, Nayeema Mehjoor Chairperson State Women Commission stated that women are equal contributors in every field and need to assert their rightful place in the society

Nayeema said this while interacting with the girl students, Asha and Anganwari workers at University Campus Bhaderwah, in a programme organized by ICDS Doda in collaboration with Bhaderwah Campus University of Jammu at Bhaderwah.

Nayeema laying stress on women education and empowerment said besides teaching our daughters to become doctors and engineers we must inculcate basic moral values to them. It's our responsibilities to change the traditional mindset of people towards women so that women are given equal status in every field of life, she added.

Nayeema urged every participant to freely reach out to the commission in time of need and assured them that every possible help will be extended to them.

Addressing the gathering, Ajaz Abdullah Secretary Women Commission said the Commission will stand against any injustice like domestic violence, sexual harassment, rape, dowry, gender inequality, forced prostitution adding that outreach programmes are working in every sphere to listen to women's grievances pertaining to different issues and solve them amicably. 

He said the commission by ways and means tries to empower women and resolve their issues by interaction, seminars, meeting so on.

On the occasion, member SWC J&K Gulzar Masoodi, Rector Bhaderwah Campus  G M Butt,  PO ICDS Surat Singh, Anganwari workers also  interacted with the participants.
