
SRINAGAR, Oct 25: A five-member delegation headed by former External affairs minister, Yashwant Sinha on Tuesday met Hurriyat conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani at his residence in Hyderpora.
The delegation which is on a three-day visit to Kashmir, soon after the arrival, went straight to Geelani’s residence who is undergoing house detention.
Sources said that the delegation will meet separatist leaders to break the shutdown call in Kashmir.
The delegation headed by Sinha comprises former Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities and the first Chief Information Commissioner of India, Wajahat Habibullah, former Air Vice Marshal Kapil Kak, veteran journalist Bharat Bhushan and Executive Director of the Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation Sushobha Barve.
