RAMANAGAR, Oct 17:  Panthers Party activists today held a strong protest against the Revenue Deptt. in Ramnagar for alleged malpractices, corruption and harassment of poor and indigent masses in the matter of provision of relief and rehabilitation besides issuance of certificates and documents. The NPP workers assembled in the morning near the Party Office, Bus Stand Ramnagar, took out a procession upto Tehsil Office raising slogans against the local administration and Tehsildar Ramnagar for large scale irregularities and prevalent mess in the Revenue Deptt.

Addressing the public, Mr. Akash Kharka Block President Young Panthers Ramnagar said that despite ‘Aadhar Card’ having become mandatory for availing facilities under various govt. schemes and for employment in central sector, majority of villages of Ramnagar Tehsil had been deprived of the said facility. He said that local administration had failed to fulfil its obligation in this regard resulting in great inconvenience and difficulties for the poor people. He regretted the non disbursement of relief to several households who suffered damages during 2014 floods and thereafter and alleged large scale corrupt practices in the process. He called upon the govt. to take immediate action for streamlining the working of Deptt. and curbing corruption failing which the public in general would be forced to take to streets.
