Positivity drops to 4.2% in Doda district, 429 recover in last one week: DC Doda

`DODA, JUNE 11: District Doda is gradually heading to normalcy with the positivity rate dropping to 4.2% and a better recovery rate on a daily basis, said Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Sharma today here at a press briefing.

"In the last week 364 people were tested covid positive, while 429 who were covid positive were discharged from hospital as well as from home isolation after full recovery ", the DC added.

With regard to testing, the DC informed that around 1200-1300 tests are being conducted on daily basis, mainly in micro containment zones and by holding special camps for vulnerable groups as a strategy to curb the transmission.

He said the containment zones showing declining trend in positivity rate would be de-notified in the coming days.

Regarding vaccination, the DC informed that Doda is the only district in Jammu and Kashmir which has achieved above 70% inoculation from 44% in the last one month by making persistence efforts as well as by organising special camps and conducting door to door campaigns in far off areas.

Further the DC informed that material has been mobolised for additional installation of 750 LPM at GMC Doda, besides 1000 LPM Oxygen Generation Plant to augment medical oxygen at GMC Doda has been sanctioned and material has started reaching here.

Similar OGPs shall be installed at Gandoh and Bhaderwah for which material and machinery is in transit, he added.

Regarding enforcement of covid appropriate behaviour in public places after unlock, the DC informed that penalties are being imposed by the designated teams upon violators so that economic activities and other developmental works are held as per the Covid safety protocol.
