RAJOURI , Sep 06:Maintaining that development of neglected pockets in the state is being accorded top priority by the coalition government, the Minister for Transport, Mr. Abdul Ghani Kohli said necessary interventions have been made to ensure holistic development of backward areas in the state.

 The Minister stated this while launching distribution of ration as per 2011 census at Kalakote today.

 Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kalakote, B K Pandotra, Assistant Director CA&PD, Ghulam Rasool Lone, local leaders, Sarpanchs, Panchs and large number of people were present on the occasion.

 The Minister said   the present dispensation is committed to provide justice to every section and region of the state and plans are formulated to ensure equitable and holistic development. In order to provide food security to all, the figures of 2011 census have been adopted which will cover more than 36 lakh souls under the Public Distribution System  across the state.  With the adoption of 2011 census figures, a long pending grievance of the people has been redressed, said the Minister.

 The Minister also assured the local nomads that the issue of ration distribution to them viz-a-viz their seasonal migration for six months to upper reaches of Pir Panchal will be taken up with the concerned ministry, and if required, two ration cards will be issued to each nomad family to ensure ration during their alternate stay for six months.
