DC Udhampur inspects in Latti, Dudu, other remote areas

Udhampur DDC tours Latti, Dudu, other remote areas
 

       Udhampur, Sep 5: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary along with team of District Officers, conducted 3-day tour of remote     Latti, Dudu villages and other remote areas of the district.

 During the tour he held a series of public meetings, Gram Sabhas and development review meetings apart from inspection of various developmental works.

Public meetings were convened at Mantalai, Marothi, Latti, Chappar, Sira, Jakhed, Duddu, Pachound and other areas in the sub-division.

          More than 50 deputations from various areas also met the DDC in the camp office at Latti and Dudu. The team of officers visited 8 Panchayats and a dozen schools and health institutions in the area for interaction with public, staff and inspection of progress on works and schemes.

A large number of people including Sarpanchs, Panchs, Prominent Citizens, Educationist, women and youth attended the public meetings at different places. Public feedback on developmental works and implementation of schemes in respective areas was also obtained and timelines fixed for various works. 

The DDC directed that various departments will have their camp offices at Latti/Duddu and days have been fixed for their visit so that public is not made to travel to Ramnagar and Basantgarh. He also approved seed store for Dudu, CAPD Store & waiting shed at Latti and Dudu, 12 foot bridges for various school, 20 SHEEP & Cattle shed, demonstration plots of agriculture /horticulture and floriculture, sports grounds, Rs 5 Lakh relief & rescue material for Latti, LPG Distribution Outlet, 800 Solar Lights; camps for Old Age Pension, Widow Pension, Handicapped Pension and for Laborers at Latti and Dudu every month. Rs 40Lakh relief was also sanctioned for affected families. He informed that ration as per 2011 census is being distributed from this month and also that Govt is provided more than 480 teachers for the district which has been a long pending demand.

Dr Shahid also directed the departments of PMGSY, PDD, CAPD, PHE, Education and Revenue for redressal of public grievances raised during the meeting; accordingly decisions were taken and timeline fixed for completion. He also inspected PHCs, PMGSY Roads, PWD Buildings, Schools, Panchayat assets and other developmental works. ExEn PMGSY was directed to lodge FIR against defaulting contractors; ExEn PWD was directed for immediate reports of Mantalai-Latti Road for which Rs 10 Lakh provided.

Sectoral officers of all the departments attended the meetings.
