Jammu: Noted Sports Administrator & former J&K cricketer Ranjeet Kalra has hailed the decesion of Hon'ble Lt. Governor's administration to establish residential sport's academies in the Union Territory of J&K.
We are also extremely grateful to Hon'ble Advisor to LG incharge of sports Farooq Khan Sahib, Principal Secretary DYSS Alok Kumar and Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gul for announcing residential sport's academies in the game of football at Srinagar and hockey at Jammu.
It's also heartening to note that Hon'ble Advisor Farooq Khan has issued directions to launch major talent hunt in the region to tap raw talent so that players from the rural areas and those from the underprivileged section of the society are also provided an opportunity to benifit from the scheme.
'" Since these academies shall focus on players from class 7th and above the talented sportspersons shall have the benefit of being nurtured by experts from a very young age." Kalra said.
Terming the establishment of residential sport's academies as a progressive and visionary initiative Kalra hoped that more games shall be added in the scheme in due course of time.
