SRINAGAR, Sep 02: The Government today ordered the reconstitution of the Governing Body for Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Science (SKIMS) Soura, Srinagar.
As per the Government Order, while Chief Minister, J&K State, will be the Chairperson of the Governing Body, the members of the Governing Body include Finance Minister, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Minister of State for Health and Chief Secretary.
The other members are Prof M S Khuroo, former Director SKIMS, Prof Puneet Dhar, Chairman, Gastrointestinal Surgery and Liver Transplant Service, AIIMS, Kochi, Kerela, Principal, GMC, Jammu, Principal, GMC, Srinagar, Principal, SKIMS, Medical College/ Hospital Bemina, Srinagar, Prof Khursheed Alam, HoD General Surgery, SKIMS, Prof Samia Rashid, Prof General Medicine, GMC Srinagar and Prof Altaf Ramzan, HoD Nero-Surgery SKIMS.
Director, SKIMS, Soura will be the Member Secretary of the Governing Body.
The Advisors for the Governing Body are Administrative Secretaries of Planning & Development, Finance and Health & Medical Education Departments.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, J&K, Dean Medical Faculty, SKIMS and Deputy Secretary to Government of India, MOHFW (Cancer Research Desk) will be co-opted as Special Invitees of the Governing Body, SKIMS for purposes of participation in such meetings where matters relating to development of Regional Cancer Centre at SKIMS are to be considered.
