Anantnag, Jan 12: Managing Director KPDCL Mr. Mohammad Aijaz Asad visited South Kashmir and took detailed review of Power position in Anantnag & Bijhbhera Divisions. During the visit, the Managing Director was accompanied by Superintending Engineer O&M Circle-Bijbehara, Executive Engineers of STD Bijbehara , ED Anantnag, ED Bijbehara and ED Kulgam .
He took a detailed review of the Power scenario in whole South circle by holding meeting with Superintending Engineer Circle-South, Executive Engineers of STD Bijbehara, ED Bijbehara, ED Anantnag, ED Kulgam. In the meeting MD KPDCL appreciated all Engineers and the field staff of South Circle who worked meticulously in the restoration of Power Supply during and after heavy snowfall.
After the meeting he inspected Receiving Station Sangam and Divisional workshops of Bijbehara and Anantnag to see their functioning and preparedness for next spell of snowfall.
During the visit the Executive Engineers of ED Bijbehara, ED Kulgam and ED Anantnag were given strict instructions to maintain the buffer stock in their respective Divisions so as to tackle any eventuality in near future.
MD was informed by SE South about DT damages and replacements in Bijhbhera and Anantnag Divisions. Further the Executive Engineer ED Anantnag reported that a total of 60 Distribution Transformers have been replaced accordingly where as 41 Nos were replaced in ED Bijbehara and 31 Nos in ED Kulgam.
The Managing Director stressed upon the concerned Executive Engineers to speed up the repairment and replacement of rest of the Distribution Transformers so as to remove hardships faced by consumers due to the outages.
He further directed all the Executive Engineers (O&M) of South Circle to strengthen the workshops for speedy repairs of Distribution transformers by keeping the same operational 24x7.
Some public delegations also met Managing Director who after a patient hearing resolved some of the grievances on spot and assured them that he will look into other issues as well.
