Poonch August 25 - A table tennis tournament was organized by the Alfa TT Club Poonch in collaboration with Nanak Academy Purani Poonch here today .
Deputy Chairman J&K Legislative Council, Mr. Jahangir Hussain Mir was the chief guest on the occasion.
In under 14 and under 19 groups, Pratham Sharma, Faisal Mir and Neeraj won the final matches respectively
While interacting with the players, Mir said that the sports and other co-curricular activities play a vital role in the development of health and personality and exhorted upon the youth to take part in such activities. He stressed on providing conducive environment to the youth and keeping them away from the social ills including drugs.
The chief guest also applauded the efforts of Mr. Nariender Singh Manager Alfa TT club in promoting sports in district Poonch.
Among others present on the occasion were Principal Girls HSS Poonch Mr. Nariender Mohan, Manager Nanak Academy Gurbhakhash Singh and physical education teachers. Mr. Vijay Sharma conducted the proceedings of the tournament.
The trophies to the winners and the runners up were awarded by the chief guest.
