SRINAGAR, Aug 16: A proud CRPF commandant Pramod Kumar unfurled the National flag few moments before he was martyred on Independence Day.
Pramod was martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Nowhatta, two hours before an Independence Day parade in the area.
Pramod Kumar, Commanding Officer of the 49 battalion, died after sustaining a bullet injury to his head. Pramod was survived by his wife Neha Tripathi, daughter Aarna and 63-year-old father.
Eight CRPF personnel and a police constable were injured in the attack
