SRINAGAR, June 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau has filed a chargesheet before court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Srinagar in case FIR number 18/2020 registered under sections 5(1) (e) read with 5(2) of J&K Prevention of Corruption Act Svt 2006 and 109 RPC at Police Station ACB Srinagar against Tariq Ahmad Ganie, JE J&K Housing Board, and his wife Rukhsana Jan, an Anganwadi worker, both residents of Aalai Gund Chandergam, Tral accused of having assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.
It said the case was registered on the basis of a verification conducted by ACB Srinagar into the allegations of disproportionate assets acquired Tariq Ahmad Ganie beyond his known sources of income in the shape of huge transactions crores of rupees in his various bank accounts.
Officials said an investigation conducted by Police Station ACB Srinagar substantiated the allegations leveled against Ganie and his wife. Accordingly, after obtaining the requisite sanction for prosecution against the public servants, a chargesheet against them was presented in the court of law for judicial determination, with next date of hearing in the case fixed as July 8, 2026.(KNC)
