Supreme Court refuses imposition of Governor's rule in J&K


SRINAGAR, July 30: The Supreme Court on Friday refused to impose Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir, but asked the union government for a status report on the ground level situation, reports said.

The Supreme Court was hearing a petition filed by the J&K Panther's Party chief Bhim Singh.

As per reports the court directed the Solicitor General of India to file before it a status report on the ground situation in the state and  warned the petitioner that he should not make political use out of this petition.

The petitioner had stated that the whole of Jammu and Kashmir was paralysed in the wake of the ongoing protests and hence Governor's rule be imposed.(Agencies)
