SRINAGAR, July 29: : A Local court has directed the SSP Srinagar to register an FIR against a Deputy Superintendent of Police within 24 hours in connection with the killing of a youth in Tengpora area of the city on July 10.
"The SSP Srinagar is directed to lodge FIR and comply with the directions of this court dated July 18, 2016 and file the copy of FIR within 24 hours," Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Srinagar, Masrat Shaheen said in her order yesterday.
OCJM said, otherwise SSP Srinagar will have to personally appear in court "to show cause as to why action shall not be taken against him".
The CJM on July 18 had directed SSP Srinagar to file an FIR against DySP Yasir Qadri and other police personnel on an application filed by father of Shabir Ahmad Mir, who was allegedly killed inside his house at Tengpora in Batamaloo area on July 10.
The counsel of the complainant pleaded before the court that despite directions, SSP Srinagar has not lodged an FIR.(Agencies)
