
Hyderabad, June 29: India's first COVID-19 vaccine COVAXIN developed by Bharat Biotech got the nod for human trials by the Drug Controller General of India on Monday.
Bharat Biotech had reportedly said that the Drug Controller General of India,CDSCO, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare granted permission to initiate Phase I & II Human clinical trials after the company submitted results generated from preclinical studies, demonstrating safety and immune response.
The drug has been developed in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research and National Institute of Virology.
They also stated that the human clinical trials are scheduled to start across India in July 2020.
