Sat Sharma reviews status of R-APDRP power projects in Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 27: In order to review the status of ongoing centrally sponsored R-APDRP (Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme) scheme, State Vice President BJP and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) took a review meeting in which the progress of the programme was discussed. Senior officials of IRCON and PDD including DGM IRCON Pankaj Kumar Bansal, SE PDD Sunil Gupta, XEn PDD Sanjay Sharma and Deputy Manager Rakesh Ranjan and many PDD officials were also present in which the slow progress of the scheme was discussed.

Sharma directed the concerned officials of IRCON to look into the matter seriously as the deadline was set for July 31, before which all transformers under the scope of R-APDRP project were to be installed in many areas of Jammu West. He said almost one month has been passed from the date of deadline and summer season is also on the peak and it will be useless if the transformers are installed after summer season ends.  The officials of IRCON assured the MLA that within ten days all transformers covered under the scope of R-APDRP will be installed so that maximum benefits could be derived by the public in the summer season.

After their meeting, Sharma along with PDD officials also toured the spots where transformers under R-APDRP have been installed and within days they will be empowered as well in order to cope up with basic demands of the public. The location visited includes Ambphalla Chowk Outside Ved Mandir Enclave, Near Revenue New Plot, Tally Morh Janipur, PHE Lane Janipur, Jawahar Nagar and Bhawani Nagar.

Sharma stated that there are other areas in Jammu West too where R-APDRP projects are under progress and he will see to it that the task by IRCON is completed within days so that public should not suffer because of low voltage and heavy electricity cuts.The MLA along with PDD officials also visited the spot where works of 10 MVA receiving  station is under progress at Manda Road. Sharma said that the station will take some time more to get complete and after its completion, a heavy load of electricity will be bifurcated and residents of Ambphalla, Karan Nagar, New Plot and adjoining areas will benefit a lot through this station.
