Jal Jeevan Mission: PHE Deptt to host buyers sellers conference: Sahu reviews arrangements for the event

JAMMU JANUARY 18: For successful implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Jammu and Kashmir, the PHE department is going to organise a buyers and sellers conference meet involving consultants, manufacturers of machinery, civil and mechanical contractors and other stakeholders associated with the development of PHE public utility infrastructure.


In this regard, Commissioner Secretary, Public Health Engineering(PHE) and Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC), Ajeet Kumar Sahu today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the event scheduled to be held on February 1, 2020.

The event would witness participation of consultants, concurrent auditors, distributors of pipe and pipe accessories manufacturers, pump manufacturers and drillers.

In the meeting, detailed deliberations were held regarding the conference, which will provide a platform to discuss the strategy for successful implementation of JJM in J&K.

Ajeet Kumar urged the officials to fill the gaps for effective implementation of JJM which envisages to connect each and every household with Piped Water Supply. He said providing safe drinking water to all is the core of this Mission .

He directed the officials to make arrangements for putting up stalls by the service provides and sellers at the identified venue for the conference.

He asked the officials to focus on capacity building of the stakeholders and agencies related with the department to enable them to come along so that the targets of JJM are achieved.

The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary, PHE&I&FC, Pankaj Hagde; Chief Engineer PHE Jammu, Dr SK Chadha; Executive Director CCDU Jammu, Er Ashok Sharma; Superintending Engineer Ground water and PHE rural circle Jammu, MP Singh; Executive Engineers of PHE department, besides other senior officials.

Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir, Abdul Wahid and other senior officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
