SRINAGAR, June 15: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Abdul Haq today informed the House that Rs. 367.65 crore was inherited as liability in Rural Development Department (RDD) during the year 2014-15 which has been cleared.
Replying to a question by Javid Hassan Baig, the Minister said the liability for the year 2015-16 is to the tune of Rs. 531.09 crore in various districts of which Rs. 380.65 crore has been cleared by the Government.
The Minister said 10 development works worth Rs. 19 lakh have been taken up in Block Baramulla during current financial year. He said no new work has been taken up for execution in Block Sheeri during current fiscal.
The Minister said the Government endeavours to provide 100 days jobs to the unemployed youth under MGNREGA for which anyone can get job card from concerned block offices at any time.
He said the budget of MGNREGA is formulated as per the work done report of last year. He said the Department achieved 111% targets under MGNREGA during last year.
