Bar Association, Jammu extends strike for indefinite period?


Jammu, Dec 2: The J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, held its General House meeting today on 2nd of December 2019  in the Conference Hall of District Court Complex, Janipur, Jammu, under the Chairmanship of Abhinav Sharma Adv.  President, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, in which majority of the members including Senior Advocates and other worthy members   participated.

The office bearers of JKHCBAJ namely S/Sh. Rohit Bhagat, Vice President, Abhishek Wazir General Secretary, Pardeep Majotra Joint Secretary & Sushant Samnotra Treasurer and office bearers of Young Lawyers Association namely S/Sh. Nitin Bakshi President, Sarvesh Kotwal, Vice President, Mrs. Upasna Thakur General Secretary ,  Suraj Singh Plathia Joint Secretary  & Amzi Arthur John Cashier were also present in the meeting.

The senior members of the Bar Association namely Leela Karan Sharma Sr. Adv, Mr. Ved Raj Wazir Sr. Adv, U.K. Jalali Sr. Adv.  B.S. Slathia Sr. Adv.  K.S. Johal,  Sr Adv, Sr. Adv.  Sunil Sethi Sr. Adv,  H.C. Jalmaria Adv, Masood Choudhary Adv. Usman Salalria, M.R. Qureshi Adv, R.S. Jamwal Adv, Ajay, Daljeet Singh Manhas Adv. Surjeet Singh Andotra Adv,  Monish Chopra Adv, Anil Gupta , Adv. Anil Khajuria Adv,  Bhavshya Sudan, Adv.  Raj Deep Thakur Adv,  while speaking in the meeting  expressed their views on the agenda  points viz decision of the Government regarding divesting Judicial  Magistrate powers of registration of documents and simultaneously  conferring the same upon the Revenue Officers and  shifting of  High Court from Janipur to Raika  and the issue of indefinite strike.
 
Abhinav Sharma Adv, President, JKHCBAJ while speaking in the General House stated and made the house aware about the developments which have taken place during the ongoing strike of the Association.
 
The members unanimously decided to continue with the demands of restoration of powers of registration to the Judicial Magistrate and till then continue with the ongoing agitation.
