Jammu, Nov 26, 2019 : Amit Sharma, a senior JKAS officer today shared a strong perspective towards religiously following fundamental duties by all individuals especially students and youth of the nation, which lays a strong foundation towards nation building in the times to come. These thoughts were shared by him during the celebrations of Constitution Day today at Government College of Education Jammu wherein he was invited as a Chief Guest. Others who were present on the occasion included Prof Dr Sangita Nagari, Principal Govt. College of Education, Dr Zubair Kales, Dr Sindu Kapur, Dr Shubhra Jamwal, Programme Co-ordinator, Prof Khasab
and Prof Shapia alongwith all students who are undergoing various courses here.
The programme on the Constitution Day celebrations began with a pledge on Preamble of Indian Constitution which was taken in the College premises in the presence of Amit Sharma, who led the ceremony and later a Presidential address was given by them to invigorate the minds of students here who are the future torch bearers and leaders to guide the young generations. He talked at length about lot of aspects on the relevance of Indian Constitution especially when J&K has ushered into a new era of becoming a Union Territory from first day of this month. He emphatically told that students should take a self-conscious decision and oath to follow the fundamental duties religiously which can help in building scientific temper, safeguarding environment, keeping peace and harmony and communal brotherhood amongst the people of nation.
Amit Sharma, who has long experience spanning over almost two decades in public administration and serving at various challenging assignments emphasised that we must understand the relevance of Constitution and alongside, every citizen must contribute personal bit while following fundamental duties which is the need of the hour. He also talked about the role of founding fathers of Indian Constitution led by Dr B.R Ambedkar who helped in bringing and implementing Indian Constitution on this day in 1949 for the public in the post independence era.
The faculty of the college thanked senior bureaucrat Amit Sharma and presented a memento to him to commemorate the occasion wherein he encouraged young students and faculty of the College and they assured him before culmination that the students shall follow all the inspiring thoughts shared by him today in the College on this historical Constitution Day celebrations after J&K’s entering into Union Territory status for the first time.
