Rajouri, Nov 17: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting of the Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers regarding the revision schedule of Panchayat Electoral Roll-2019 with January 1, 2020 as eligible date for inclusion.
The DC said as per the revision schedule, publication of existing Panchayat Electoral Roll-2018 shall be done on November 18, 2019. Whereas, filing of claims and objections for additions/deletions/corrections/transportation is from November 18,2019 to December 8,2019.
The DC impressed upon the EROs and AEROs to monitor the progress of enrolments in order that all eligible voters are registered in the Electoral Rolls. The ERO called for enhanced efforts for improving the cover at the earliest.
The DC directed the officers to conduct awareness camps/Special camps on a regular basis to inform people about voting and voting rights.
