RAMBAN JUNE 4: In order to take fist hand appraisal about functioning of Power Development Department (PDD) at grass root level besides assessing the problems of field functionaries of department, District Development Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Aijaz convened Lineman meeting here today.
The meeting was attended by CPO, Parshotam Kumar, Xen PDD, Engineers, Meter Readers, Linemen and other field functionary of the department.
During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on various vital issues pertaining to the PDD besides implementation of various schemes of power department at grass root level. He directed the Xen PDD to take immediate steps to ensure proper implementation of centrally sponsored schemes like DDUGJY and RGGVY.
DDC also asked the Xen to ensure replacement and repair of the transformers and other machinery in a minimum time period particularly in remote areas and take necessary steps to check power pilferage.
He instructed the Engineers of the department to conduct frequent visits in their respective areas for making survey report of un-electrified areas so that these areas can be electrified in next plan.
DDC appreciated the role of the field functionaries and assured them that their grievances will be looked into on priority.
