Veeri inspects Zero Bridge in Srinagar


 

SRINAGAR, MAY 23: Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rehman Veeri today inspected Zero Bridge and reviewed the progress made on the renovation and remodeling of the bridge.

The Minister was informed that the Foot Bridge has been re-modeled with a length of 154 meters with 6 view decks and Houseboat type restaurant. The bridge is purely made of wooden material to preserve the heritage. Chief Minister Mehbooba  Mufti is expected to inaugurate it.

Mr. Veeri said that the former Chief Minister late Mufti sahib was keen to ensure proper beautification of the river banks of the Jehlum and the idea for re-modeling the Zero Bridge as Foot Bridge with Food Court was conceived by him only. He said the bridge will invite attraction of tourists who are visiting Kashmir Valley.

The Minister said the Government is committed to ensure holistic development of Srinagar City for which various long and short term measures are underway.

The Minister was accompanied by MD, JKPCC, Mr. Dalip Thusu and other concerned officers.
