Kupwara, May 22: 5 militants have been shot dead in encounter with Army in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, Defence Spokesperson Col SD Goswami said.
He said as the security forces were conducting a search operation after information, the holed-up militants fired upon them. The security forces retaliated, triggering an encounter, the official said.
As per reports, two Army soldiers were also injured .
