SRINAGAR, MAY 20: Minister for Education, Mr Naeem Akhtar today visited famous Ganesha Temple at Ganpatyar in Srinagar to felicitate the Kashmiri Pandit devotees on Ganesh Chaturthi.

Kashmir Pandit Sangharsh Samiti President, Mr Sanjay Tickoo was also present on the occasion.

PRO to Chief Minister, Mr M K Dhar also accompanied the Minister to extend Ganesh Chaturthi felicitations to the devotees on behalf of the Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti.

Interacting with the devotees, the Minister said such festivals remind us of the glorious pluralistic ethos of Jammu and Kashmir, where the festivals of all the religions were being celebrated jointly by all the people.

“I feel nostalgic, while I greet you today. During my childhood days, we would go to the Pandit neighborhoods and celebrate each other’s festivals,” Akhtar told the devotees present in large numbers at the temple.

Mr Akhtar prayed for peace, harmony, progress and development of Jammu and Kashmir.
