SAMBA, MAY 14 - District Red Cross Society today held a blood donation camp at DC Office Complex in collaboration with Health Department Samba and Young Blood Association Samba as part of Red Cross Day celebrations. ?
The camp was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda. All District /Sectoral officers including the DDC and few volunteers donated Blood on the occasion.? A special equipped ambulance was provided for the purpose by GMC, Jammu.
The DC called for massive public awareness to dispel the apprehensions regarding blood donation. ?She hoped that blood donation by the senior officers shall send a positive message across the society. She hoped that more and more females would come up voluntarily to donate blood and noted that the general fear of blood donation has to be overcome. ?She also directed the Executive Secretary, Red Cross to hold First Aid and civil defence training programmes for Red Cross and other social organisation volunteers as well as teachers across the District.?
On the o?occasion DSWO Samba Mushtaq Choudhary and Neelam Singh, Ashok Verma, Vikas Mankotia and Kamal Bhatti from Young Blood Organisation were present.
