JKSJA for strengthening judicial institutions in J&K


 

SRINAGAR, MAY 13: Jammu & Kashmir State Judicial Academy in its endeavour to strengthen the Judicial Institution and impart necessary skills, organized one day special interaction programme  of all District and Sessions Judges of Kashmir province today.

The function was organized by State Judicial Academy, under the guidance and patronage of Chief Patron of State Judicial Academy, Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Governing Body of the State Judicial Academy Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Chairman and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal, Member), Jammu and Kashmir State Judicial Academy.

In his introductory remarks, Director, State Judicial Academy extended warm welcome to Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Judge, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir (Chairman, J&K State Judicial Academy) for gracing the occasion and said that by organizing such type of interaction programmes on varied subjects of importance, Academy provides a platform to the experts and Judicial Officers to ponder upon crucial issues and exchange valuable experience and knowledge.

He further informed that Academy along with High Court in its concerted efforts to strengthen the judicial institution is committed to provide the latest IT tools and electronic equipments to the Judicial Officers so that they are able to provide qualitative and speedy justice to the litigants.

On this occasion, laptops of latest configuration were provided to the District Judges of Kashmir province.

Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar highlighted the importance of technology in the working of the judiciary and expressed the hope that the step will enrich the judicial officers and enable them to work more efficiently and effectively. Case Law software was also installed in the systems in his Lordships presence.

Proceedings were conducted by Abdul Rashid Malik, Director, State Judicial Academy.

Many District and Sessions Judges spoke on the occasion and expressed gratitude to the Chief Justice and Judges of the High Court for improving their logistics and fully assured the Chairman about their commitment to ensure speedy justice and access to justice for all.

The Chief Justice in his address highlighted the fact that the object of organizing such interaction programme was to ensure a better, effective and responsive judicial system as such programmes work as in house refreshing and educating courses for Judicial officers as how best to utilize their time and skills to achieve the optimum results by delivering speedy justice and at the same time enhancing quality of justice. He expressed the hope that work load, time and energy of judicial officers will be saved by using these laptops and IT tools.

On the occasion the first laptop was given to Rashid Ali Dar, senior most district and Sessions Judge, and afterwards provided to all the Sessions Judges of Kashmir province.

Earlier, similar programme was held at Jammu where laptops were provided to all the District and Sessions Judges of Jammu province in the august presence of Justice Janak Raj Kotwal on 5th of May, 2016.
