Kohli holds public grievances redressal camps in North Kashmir Says present dispensation working for all round dev of state

PATTAN/SOPORE, MAY 11: In order to reach out to the people at grass root level to assess their problems, Minister for Animal and Sheep Husbandry Mr. Abdul Gani Kohli conducted public grievances redressal camps at Yakmanpora Pattan and Dangerpora Sopore in North Kashmir today.

Large number of people from these areas participated in the camps who apprised the Minister about their collective and individual problems.

Addressing the public gatherings, the Minister said that the present dispensation is working towards ensuring all round development in the state and the coalition partners are steadfast on the resolve to address the issues of development of all three regions and sub-regions of the state.

The Minister said that the main focus of Government is to upgrade the essential services like drinking water, road connectivity, education, electricity, health services and transport to improve the living conditions of people across the State. “It is these basic facilities which can ensure progress and prosperity in the society,” he said, and added that the concerned departments have been directed to submit the status of these sectors with requirements of funds to upgrade these on priority.

The Minister said that major development projects, social welfare schemes, skill development initiatives, tourism and heritage projects have been launched by the present government in the state, adding that liberal funding from the central government has ensured that the expectations of the people of the state are met in a time bound and transparent manner.

Appealing people to take active part in forthcoming Panchayat Elections and strengthen these democratic institutions at grass root level. He said government is keen to empower Panchayati Raj Institutions so that development of rural areas is ensured.

Responding to the demands with regard to construction of new and repairs and macadamization of existing roads, the Minister said that roads are vital for development of any area and stressed that a well knit plan has been envisaged to improve the road link in the state to improve connectivity to all the far flung areas. He said that the government is aware of the problems of the people of Kandi and hilly areas and all efforts are being made to improve the infrastructural facilities for providing better amenities to the people. 

 Later, the Minister visited Fish Seed Farm at Ladoora in Baramulla. The Minister directed the concerned officers to improve quantity of fish production from this Farm.
