Lawyers have pivotal role in democratic setup : Abdul Haq ; Will ensure better working atmosphere for lawyers


BUDGAM, MAY 07: Minister for Rural Development, Law and Justice Abdul Haq today said the lawyers play pivotal role in a democratic set up and government will ensure strengthening of judiciary.

While interacting with lawyers in different courts at Budgam district during his day long visit, the law Minister  said Lawyers help in interpreting and applying  the law for the purpose of Justice. He said lawyers are important pillar of judiciary and government will ensure better working atmosphere for them in all courts.

Abdul Haq said better lawyers chambers will be developed in every court of the state so that lawyers can contribute to deliver justice to needy in efficient manner.

During interaction lawyers apprised the Minister about the problems faced by them. The Minister assured them that their problems will be redressed on priority.

He said he being an advocate by profession considers himself as a representative of Lawyers in cabinet. He said he is aware of problems of Lawyers and will ensure better infrastructure in courts for them.

Minister also interacted with female advocates and appreciated their role in judiciary and said the government is committed to empower women at par with the male counterparts and will ensure better working atmosphere for them.

Underscoring the role of Lawyers, the Minister said many lawyers serve in legislatures and parliaments and often lawyers are called upon to advise parliaments on the details of new laws and hence lawyers should have better working atmosphere.

Later, Minister also visited shrine of Baba Haneef-ud-din Gazi(RA) and issued on spot directions for early completion of construction work of Sarai and also called for face lifting and beautification of the area.

Minister was accompanied by Director Rural Development Tasaduq Jeelani besides various officials of RDD and Law and Justice
