Mehbooba was right in pitching Odd-Even rule::Odd-Even rule first for “Government vehicles” in J&K might get things on track

JAMMU, May 07:   Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on  Friday requested the youth of Kashmir to voluntarily take up the Odd-Even formula like the one in New Delhi, which was quite successful one.

Mehbooba said “The students of the valley should come forward and give Odd-Even formula a try,”

Mehbooba said  “ Students should start it by trying it out for 10-15 days. It will not only de-congest the traffic but also save fuel. If they succeed and show us the way then slowly our government officials will follow them.”

CM Mehbooba was right in pitching Odd-Even rule as this could solve traffic woes in Jammu & Kashmir but to get system more aligned and more goal oriented, Odd-Even rule first for “Government vehicles” in J&K might get things on track as there would be certain rules that would be governing the movements . This way not only Traffic will reduce but will excite other people and students to follow it.

Editor in Chief of Cross Town News , who is also Member of J&K Transport Advisory Committee said that Mehbooba was right in pitching Odd –Even rule but to get maximum result she must go for the same rule for Government vehicles first.

Rahil Gupta said during the Transport Advisory Committee meeting held last year , there were discussion on allowing only One vehicle registration per Individual in Jammu & Kashmir, as there are many households where 3-4 vehicles are there and such an order  can reduce  the number of vehicles by remarkable margin, which will further reduce pollution and save fuel.
