Hanjura for immediate repairs, renovation, dredging of irrigation khuls

          BUDGAM, MAY 06: Minister for Agriculture Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today visited various areas of Chrar-e-Sharief Constituency including      Bonan, Nowhar and other villages and took stock of irrigation khuls. He directed the Irrigation authorities to take measures for repair, dragging and renovates all the Khuls  so that they become functional.

          A team of senior officers of district administration including District Development Commissioner, Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad accompanied the Minister during his tour.

          Addressing a public gatherings at Bonan and Nowhar, the Minister said that under PMGSY an amount of Rs 9 crore have been sanctioned for up gradation of Surisyar-Kotibal road and work on the project will be started soon. He said Government is committed to upgrade the basic infrastructure of all crore sectors including health, education and power besides measures are underway to expand the road network besides  its macdamization.

          The Minister said that the construction work on Nowhar and Kotibal Water Supply Schemes (WSS) will be started soon and Rs 5.5 crore would be spent on them and will improve water supply in Choudhrygund, Nowhar, Serigund and its adjacent areas.

          The Minister also gave on spot directions to the Assistant Commissioner Development, Budgam to construct bridge over Kumar Mohallah Nallah on priority which he said is the long pending demand of the people of the area.

          Responding the demand of holding of awareness camp, Mr. Hanjura announced that a mega Awareness-cum-Kissan Mela would be organized in the area soon.

          He also directed the Horticulture department to conduct frequent field visits of the area to educate farmers about the spray and other techniques.
