DC Udhampur releases OBC Survey and statistics

          UDHAMPUR, APRIL 04 - Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Choudhary today released the Other Backward Classes (OBC) survey of district Udhampur which has been compiled after extensive field survey and data processing.

          The OBC Survey reveals that District Udhampur has an OBC population of 24247 comprised of 48,00 families. There are 13391 Males and 10856 Female members among the population of notified OBCs. Tehsil wise data reveals that there are 29 families comprised of 131 persons, in Majalta 952 families comprised on 4518 persons, in Panchari 208 families comprised of 1120 persons, in Latti-Marothi 223 families comprised of 1015 persons, in Chenani 374 families comprised of 2013 persons, in Tehsil Udampur 2065 families comprised of 10299 persons, in Tehsil Ramnagar 722 families comprised of 4277 persons, in Tehsil Mongri 177 families comprised of 874 persons. Tehsil Udhampur has highest population of OBCs while Tehsil Basantgarh has lowest population.

          The field exercise was completed by 31st December 2015 which was followed by scrutiny and verification by various teams and data entry at District Headquarters. The survey list will be provided to all development and welfare departments for efficient planning of schemes and identification of beneficiaries in the district.

          The DC directed the display of OBC survey lists in public domain on District Website and in all Tehsil Offices, Niabat Offices and through notice in print in electronic media to ascertain if any member of the notified OBC communities is left out and to invite comments and objections in the matter. He appreciated the SDMs and Tehsildars for effective field exercise, and Revenue Staff, Planning Staff, DSEO Establishment and NIC District Centre for the elaborate exercise and efforts for preparation of an error free comprehensive survey of OBCs in the district which wil go a long way in development planning and welfare of identified by groups by Central and State Government.

          ADDC Arvind Sharma, ADC A S Rana, CPO Rakesh Jamwal, ACR Rajiv Magotra, DIO-NIC Anil Sharma, DSEO Ashok Khajuria, HQA Shabir Ahmed, SQ Nodal Cell Vijay Kumar and other officers were present during discussion on and release of OBC survey.
