Sports Must For Building Physique, Character & Inculcating Leadership Skills:  Sunil Sharma       


          JAMMU, APRIL 28: Describing Sports and Physical activities as an inseparable component for developing character, physique and inculcating leadership qualities in youth, Minister of State for Youth Services & Sports Mr. Sunil Kumar Sharma today reiterated the commitment of the Government to provide world class infrastructure to the sportsmen in the State which would enable them to chisel their skills and abilities to compete at national and International levels.

          The Minister was speaking during the inaugural function of the   North Zone handball championship tournament at mini sports stadium Parade Ground here today.

          The Minister asserted that Government has taken various initiatives for developing and upgrading sports infrastructure in the state and   various projects are underway in sports sector which after completion will definitely provide better and improved world class facilities to the sportspersons in the state. 

          The Minister said that such events provide suitable platform to the youth to mould their skills for better and enhanced performance. He impressed upon the youth to focus on their fitness levels for desired performance and enhanced stamina to perform in any circumstances of the game. He also stressed on greater participation of girls in various sports and also for organising such tournaments in far flug areas to provide better opportunities to the sports persons.
