SRINAGAR, APRIL 25: The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, today held a review meeting to take stock of arrangements for ensuing auspicious occasion of Meraj-ul-Aalam.
During the meeting, arrangements for Urs of Sheikh Dawood (RA) also known as Batamaloo Sahab, which falls two days prior to the Meraj-ul-Aalam were also reviewed.
The review meeting held threadbare discussion for smooth conduct of the festivals to ensure that devotees don’t face problems during festive days.
The main function in connection with the Meraj-ul-Aalam will be held at Hazratbal Srinagar Shrine which attracts huge rush of devotees.
Arrangements including supply of water and power, cleanliness and illumination in and around the main venue, besides medical facilities, adequate transport availability, parking, repair of roads leading to the Hazratbal, availability of fire tenders, establishing emergency control rooms were finalized in the meeting.
The DC stressed upon the concerned officers to work in coordination and appointed SDM Srinagar as nodal officer to oversee the arrangements for the festival. He also called for putting in arrangements at Jenab Sahab Soura and Asare-Shareef Kalashpora, which also witnesses rush of devotees on the eve of Meraj-ul-Aalam celebrated every year on Rajab 27 .
